YLOD or Yellow Light of Death happens when the power light on the PS3 changes from yellow to red and will not power up. This is caused by the overheating, which causes the solder to crack thereby causing the chips in the motherboard to lose connection.
There is a number of fixes to the YLOD error available in the internet. Some offer it for a fee while others offer free downloading of a guide. The YLOD error is a hardware error therefore if one is a technical person then he/she can attempt to fix the problem. Comments regarding the fix are positive therefore there is a good chance that the fix works.
As a precautionary measure to the YLOD problem, one must make sure to follow the room temperature requirement of the PS3. In the PS3 manual, the temperature must be from 41F to 95F and leave 4 to 6 centimeters distance from the wall.
Display problems often results when the cables are loosely connected to the console therefore to remedy this, one must make sure that all cables are properly connected.
PS3 Problems
Another common ps3 problem is the Blu-Ray disc failure that happens when one plays for very long or the disc has scratches. To remedy this, one must restrict playing hours up to 3 or 4 hours only then let the console rest. For scratched discs, one must take care of the discs so as not to scratch them. One must also refrain from using discs with smudges.
Cleaning the PS3 regularly can also prevent some of the ps3 problems errorsĀ encountered during playing. To clean the console, a low power vacuum can be used to suck out the dirt from the vents. A can of air can also be used provided it is used properly.
The tube straw must be attached properly to the can to prevent it from damaging the PS3 when accidentally fired. The can of air must be used in its upright position to prevent the release of freezing moisture, which can damage the console. To clean the outside of the PS3, microfiber cloth must be used so as not to scratch the PS3 surface.
Proper shutting down of the PS3 must also be practiced to prevent any occurrence of ps3 problems related to improper shutdown. Using the remote control can be the easiest and the best way to shut down the console. The switch at the back must never be used to shutdown the PS3 console.
